Lost Weight

I lost 86LBS in five months!
That's an average of 4.3lbs per week!

Many have asked "How did you lose all that weight!?"
and I now just point them to this web page.

First and foremost, I stopped drinking alcohol in February 2007 (Super Bowl Sunday) because alcohol is not only a depressant but also has a lot of fat content. And when you are losing weight, you want to be happy and not depressed and you are to cut out the fat. I also stopped drinking carbonated beverages because many studies have shown they are not good to consume. So both alcohol and carbonated beverages went and I have not regretted it!

I ate -4- bananas every day for two-weeks and a minimum of -2- bowls (or as much as I wanted) of low sodium vegetable soup (started off using canned and then homemade) with low sodium crackers. Every day I would also drink fresh ground coffee (black) as well as 'light' cranberry juice and 'light' orange juice mixed with Reverse Osmosis water. I would also take a multi-vitamin as well as walk anywhere from 2.25 to 4.5 miles with my dogs every day.

At the end of two weeks, I substituted the vegetable soup with a sensible healthy meal. (anywhere between 3:30PM and 4:30PM - but no later) That sensible meal consisted of a 1/2 vegetable sandwich on wheat bread and some sort of lunch meat or bacon with some cheese. I would also have a small bowl of salad with light dressing. Of course I would still eat my -4- bananas every day and drink my coffee (black) as well as drink my cranberry juice mix.

At the end of these two weeks (now a month) I stopped eating the bananas all together but continued to still drink my coffee (black) as well as my cranberry juice mix and only ate one healthy sensible meal a day. (still between 3:30PM and 4:30PM but no later) In the evening hours, I began to treat myself by having a couple of scoops of either low-fat vanilla yogurt or non-fat sherbet ice cream but always no later that one hour before bed.

During this time of dieting/changing my lifestyle, I monitored my weight progress every day by weighing myself at the same time, before eating and after emptying my bladder/bowels and taking a shower - in other words the morning. Even though an inserted picture here would add impact, I'll leave that to your imagination.  :o

After six weeks, I was able to fast one day a week and only drinking my coffee (black) and my cranberry juice mix to sustain myself. The weight and inches have come off and continue to come off. Everyone who sees me can not believe how wonderful I look - they're right.

I am now able to eat two sensible meals per day and maintain my weight within 1-4 pounds. I have decided to slow down the weight loss, a bit, but I am surprised and glad that the inches are still shedding! Five months later after starting my diet, I have resumed eating bananas and still am drinking my cranberry juice mix. I have not had the appetite/desire to eat any vegetable soup again, but I am certain that it will come.

The other thing I did was either sold or donated my old clothes so I could not go back to wearing them and figured I spent good money on new clothing, so I should work at staying in them - comfortably!

Think about this - 86lbs is the size of an average small person, and what a wonderful feeling it is to shed that person from me! My health is so much better, my joints no longer hurt like they once did. The Asthma is practically non-existent as is the Allergic Rhinitis, better known as Hay Fever. The Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia that are running rampant through my body (JRA since birth and FIBRO diagnosed since 2000) are beginning to show signs of quieting down since I have changed my diet and lifestyle - which I might add; this entire change is indeed for the better.

I'm tired of people telling me and others how to live their lives, you can't lose weight like this - it isn't healthy. These people always try to get me to change my personal views, etc. I suspect that if these people would spend more time working on their own lives rather than worrying about mine or someone else's, they could achieve a higher level of success than they have.

There is nothing more important than your family. Spend quality time teaching, and reading the scriptures, as well as cultivating the many talents that God has given each and everyone in your family, and also take the time to discuss family matters. In the increasingly frantic rush in today's world, it is so important that parents sit down with their children, to pray together, and instruct them in the ways of the Yeshua (Jesus), consider their family problems, and let the children express their talents. If you do this you will be a satisfied parent with satisfied children that know and respect not only you but also their piers, especially the Father.

Proverbs 30:29-31 (King James Version)

29 There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going:
30 A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;
31 A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up.
